#CatchTheMoment365 – Week 12

I cannot believe that March is coming to an end already!  I had a fantastic month and am excited to see what Spring brings!

Spring?! Did you hear me say that?  SPRING HAS SPRUNG! Woot!  Woot!

I for one am totally excited for warm flip-flop wearing weather!  Sadly for me, Seattle won’t really see consistent warm weather until July 5th, but I can dream and soon it will be here!

Another positive was I didn’t mess up at all this week on the day or date!  Yes, week 12 was a pretty fabulous one for me!  I’m ready to see what week 13 brings!

with Mindy at Simply Stavish, Sarah at Nurse Loves Farmer, and Stephanie at Behind the Camera and Dreaming.

How does this work?  Everyday I am posting a new pic to Instagram, Twitter and my personal Facebook page with the hash tags #365DaysofCori and the official challenge hash tag #catchthemoment365.  On Friday’s I will do a recap of the previous week’s photos and *hopefully* give a little more insight into the photos, why I took them and any history behind them.

Happy Friday!

*W*O*W* my “Won’t Chew Be Mine” post went crazy!

I’m slightly addicted to Pinterest. I pin a couple times a day (give or take a hundred!), but I have never had an item I made go *viral*.  However, a few days ago I was scrolling through and came across one of MY posts that had been pinned a crazy amount of times!

Last Valentine’s Day I made these fun Valentine’s to pass out to my volunteers.

valentinesvalentine2

I had pinned it to Pinterest just to see what happened and it quickly became the #1 searched item that brought people to my blog.  Pretty cool!  I was psyched!

In January I started noticing the original pin I posted on Pinterest was getting more and more re-pins.  I *enjoyed* checking it daily to see how many pins it now had.  By early last week I was inching closer to 500 pins.  I was thrilled to see my first pin go “viral” (in my mind!).

But then a couple days before Valentine’s Day I was scrolling through my Pinterest home page and came across my photo.  However, it wasn’t pinned/connected to my blog:

Slightly confused I clicked through to the “Visit” link below the image and to my surprise was brought to this website:

where I noticed my pin had been spotlighted on the “Top DIY Projects” site for Valentine’s Day ideas.  Not only had it been spotlighted, but it had been pinned more than 6,000 times!  WOW!  I was absolutely shocked and excited.

I quickly sent my friend a message, the one who had originally pinned this pin, and asked if she had any idea that was my photo.  She responded with she didn’t initially know it was mine, but soon made the connection.  She had found it by doing a Google search for the “Won’t Chew Be Mine” question.  She went on to tell me it actually was the first item that popped up in Google Images!  What?!

I then popped over to the “web” option where I found that my blog post appeared as #5!  Yep, I was pretty excited!

I’m pretty darn proud of myself!  Have you had an item go “viral”Even if it’s just a “Cori” standard viral post? Smile

I Dig You!

Last year for Valentine’s Day I made and gave out these fun “Won’t Chew Be Mine” Valentine’s Day gifts to my amazing volunteers, coworkers, friends and family. I had such a blast making them last year that for a couple months now I’ve been scouring Pinterest for ideas of what to make this year!

There are so many adorable ideas that it was hard to settle on one. However with time being a factor, I finally picked an idea and ran with it!

I dig this, how about you?!

Are you a Pinterest loving crafter too?! What did you do for Valentine’s Day gifts?!

Brandi sent me a similar idea on Pinterest a few days ago and I promptly redesigned it and passed it out to my Primary class on Sunday! I totally love the idea and finished product!

Merry Christmas Eve friends! I cannot believe Christmas is here!

won’t CHEW be mine?

Isn’t this the cutest Valentine’s gift?!  Yes, this was a Pinterest find that I LOVE!  In fact, I loved it so much I also made them with Madison & Emmalee to give out at their school too!  Super easy to make, they look adorable and now I look super crafty!  When in reality I just designed my “Love, Cori” part…the rest was sent to me from the Etsy store I bought it from?!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

This post was 100% my opinion. I didn’t receive any compensation for sharing my opinion and/or writing a review.

Hershey’s Chocolate Covered Pretzels with M&Ms! *Photo Challenge: Brown*

One of the first items I pinned on Pinterest was delicious looking Hershey’s Chocolate Covered Pretzels’ with M&Ms!

I couldn’t get to the store fast enough to buy the ingredients!!  Not only are the quick and easy to make, kids can help!  I made them on Tuesday with the triplets (as sort of pictured above) and tonight with Madison &  Emmalee.  Granted mine are nearly as pretty as the ones in the above photo, the kids (& I) had a lot of fun making them and a GREAT time eating them!

Highly recommend!!

Mukilteo Waterfront Art Festival Re-Cap & Photos!

It’s now been a week since Julia & I finished the Mukilteo Waterfront Art Festival and it still seem like we’re in de-compressing mode!  After sleeping (and I slept for days it felt like!) we got busy again!  We have listed or are in the process of listing MANY new items to our ETSY store that we made for the festival but didn’t sell!  So make sure you swing by our store daily to see the new fun accessories we are adding!!

So how did we do?

We did fair I would say.  It rained poured during set-up on Saturday and then all day Sunday – seriously who wants to go to an arts & crafts festival in the rain??  Surprisingly quite a few people!

With this being our first "real" event we didn’t know what to expect and we were hoping for a "normal" sale, so we could figure out how much product to bring, etc.  We don’t think this was a fair sale to base it on, but either way we’re proud of how our first sale went!  I believe we sold about $600 worth of hair bows and accessories!

What were our best sellers?

Our best sellers were our “board” (2” size) and the korker hair bows.  Not far behind came our 3rd place Hand Weaved Headbands w/ Coordinating Bows!

We had high hopes of our flip flops flying off the shelves, they didn’t.  You have to take into consideration it was pouring rain outside our tent!  The flip flops, however, brought in almost all of our visitors!  People were drawn into look at how adorable the flip-flops were!  Our pillowcase dresses also brought people into our booth!

Who were our biggest buyers?

Grandma’s.  Hands down!  Grandma’s were coming in left and right and buying bows and other accessories to spoil their granddaughters!

What did we learn/recommend?

  • We used  (and LOVED) SQUARE to easily be able to take credit cards with an I-Phone!
  • The more people you have for set-up/tear-down the better!  No matter how organized or amount of time we allowed ourselves, you will always need more hands and/or time!
  • Consider where you live … is it “safe” in Seattle to commit to outdoor craft fairs?

Now What?

We came home and are already researching our next venues we want to sell at!  No one can stop us now!!
