Pumpkin Poop

DSC_0004.jpg

or more commonly known as pumpkin guts!

Sweet Emmalee was excited to scoop out the Pumpkin Poop tonight when they came over to carve pumpkins!

I think this was the first year that the girls actually partook in the actual pumpkin carving process.  In the past they have enjoyed the idea of scooping out the “pumpkin poop” and carving the pumpkin, but once the tops were cut off the pumpkin and they looked inside they quickly changed their minds!  Chickens!

2014 was a whole new year for them.  This year they were all in!  The both scooped their pumpkins and then assisted in the carving of them!

Emmalee chose to draw a face on her pumpkin and Brandi carved it out, while Maddie & I each picked a pattern off the internet and carved them.  In the end I think all three turned out pretty darn well!

Mason didn’t help, but did enjoy emptying out my mom’s linen napkin drawer, throwing the napkin rings all over the kitchens and watching them roll across the floor!  He did join in for a couple of photos on the front porch after they were done.

Pumpkins from left to right: Maddie’s witch, my owl and Emmalee’s queen!

Every loved the final products, especially the girls when we lit the candles and turned off the lights!  Mason enjoyed the pumpkins until we turned the lights out and then he panicked.

I hope you all have a wonderful, safe and DRY Halloween!

#CatchTheMoment365 ~ Week 39

post-day274-oct1.png

Well, I’m chuggin’ right along trying to get all caught up.  Who cares that we are currently in week 41?  I continue to plug along and still haven’t missed a photo yet!  Slowly but surely I will get caught up!

For those of you who read about my last blog post, I’m excited to announce that the event brought in over $18,000 in donations!  That money will be cherished and allow Eastside Baby Corner to purchase more car seats, diapers, Pack ‘N Plays, formula and much more for kids in need living in King County Washington.  I’m so honored to be a small piece of this amazing organization!

Week 39 was another great one for me!  Here’s what I did that week…

#CatchTheMoment365; Week 35

post-day242-aug30_thumb.png

I had to do a double look when I typed Week 35.  How are we already through Week 35?  Well technically now Week 36 since I’m behind (again).  September is here and summer is coming to an end.  Crazy.  Absolutely crazy!

Week 35 was a fun one.  I took another trip to Eastern Washington to visit my Grandma.  Brandi, Jaime and the kids all came too so it was a lot of fun!  The rest of the week involved preparing for my big work Pants Party which was happening the following Saturday.  Between Kennewick and Pants Party my week was extremely busy!

Ooohhhh and my sweet niece Emmalee started Kindergarten….that’s almost crazier than it being September and Week 35!

#CatchTheMoment365; Week 31

post-day-215-august3_thumb.png

The last two weeks have been a whirlwind for me and my blogging took a backseat.  My Grandma passed away on August 7th after a long and courageous battle with cancer, leaving behind an amazing legacy and memories.

With the passing of my Grandma, an unexpected trip to Salt Lake City and her funeral, Week 31 never got written or published, actually at this point I’m late with Week 32 as well.  Family is much more important than my blog, but while I am delayed publishing Week 31 and 32, I didn’t miss a day of photos.  Stay tuned over the next couple of days for another catch-up post plus Week 33.

#CatchTheMoment365; Week 25

20140627-225028-82228606.jpg

Week 25 brought beautiful weather with lots of outside fun!  A trip to Safeco Field, a small hike, daily walks and sno-cones.  I love summer!  However, after several weeks of gorgeous weather today the weather began to flip and is supposed to rain all weekend.  My light at the end of the tunnel is I leave for Las Vegas on Friday morning for the long holiday weekend!  Bring on more summer fun!

Great Wolf Lodge

DSC_0118_thumb.jpg

In March we had a blast spending the weekend at Great Wolf Lodge!  The girls are little fish and love the water, Mason was NOT impressed with the water!  The one positive for me was I didn’t injure myself like I did previously slipping down the stairs turning my “what a trip” into “what a slip”!

Maddie got quite a surprise when a bucket of water was dumped on her!

Both of the girls were obsessed with the lily pad obstacle course!

Mason was much happier all bundled up in the stroller watching!

What a fun weekend we had!  I’m ready to go back and play some more!

Super Star!

DSC_0025_thumb.jpg

Maddie has always been the super star athlete, whether she’s playing t-ball, soccer, swimming, dancing or cheerleading, she’s done them all and exceeded.  Emmalee on the other hand has always been the more reserved and happy to stand on the sidelines cheering her sister on.  She has taken swimming lessons, played soccer and tried dancing, but never seemed to enjoy it.  So when she was signed up for soccer this year everyone had their doubts.

Boy did she shock everyone.

The once shy and scared little girl was gone when she got on the soccer field, or gym floor as it really was!  She was an aggressive firecracker!  I was so proud of her willingness to run after the ball, kick it and really get involved in the game!  She was a total super star and I couldn’t have been prouder of her!!

I apologize for the blurriness of some of the photos, my camera settings had been messed with and it took me a while to figure out what had been changed!

#CatchTheMoment365; Week 21

day149; may29

Okay, is it just me or was this week just constantly off?  I’ve been a day off and confused on the day all week.  Not that I’m complaining about having Monday off, but I’ve just been confused all week!  Needless to say it doesn’t seem like it’s time to get my Friday #CatchTheMoment365 post up….let alone the 21st edition of the challenge!  TWENTY-ONE!

In last week’s post I mentioned that I was headed for Eastern Washington for Memorial Day weekend and what a fun weekend I had!  The first four photos show some of the fun we had on our getaway!  The trip was a blast, the sun felt wonderful and even though we sat in stop-and-go traffic that added an addition two hours onto our already four hour drive, it was worth it!

My only complaint is my own fault.

On Saturday while we were getting ready to go out and play my Grandma told me to make sure I put sunscreen on.  I made a big deal out of how I don’t ever burn {insert Public Service Announcement*} and didn’t need to wear sunscreen.  Well it’s true, I don’t burn….very often.  And yes, that day I got burned….bad.  Since I had made such a big deal out of not wearing sunscreen I couldn’t complain about the pain at all, nobody wanted to hear about it!  So I had to suffer in silence!

*Public Service Announcement: YES, I know how dangerous it is no to wear sunscreen and that it causes skin cancer.  I know, I know, I’ve even had cancerous moles removed that appeared due to sun exposure, but I don’t learn.  I’m stubborn and not to mention extremely stupid!
