Kennewick 9/11 Memorial

DSC_0022.jpg

Back in May when my Grandma moved to Eastern Washington, I had the opportunity to visit the 9/11 Memorial.  Just like you are probably thinking, who knew there was a 9/11 Memorial in Kennewick?  I thought the exact same thing!  But, wow, what an amazing memorial the City of Kennewick put together.  Absolutely. Stunning.

About the 9/11 Memorial:

On September 11, 2011, Kennewick, Washington recognized the 10th anniversary of 9/11 by placing a 35-foot-tall steal beam of the twin towers as a permanent memorial.  The memorial consists of two beams from the World Trade Towers, obtained from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, weighing nearly 6,000 pounds, combined with a tastefully designed flag pole and memorial plaque.

My Visit

To make my visit to the memorial even more memorable the weather was beautiful with stunning blue sky.

If you ever get a chance, stop by and visit it!

Thanks Diana! What a beautiful memorial they put up. It still shocks me that Kennewick has a piece of 9/11 history though!
