I’m not a mom, but thanks to my ten+ years of nannying for families with twin up to quintuplets I have changed my fair share of diapers. There were many days when I’d change more than 30 diapers a day…I sort of pride myself on being a diaper changing superstar. When Charity’s girls were in diapers, we would race each other to see who could change the diaper the fastest. While it was always close, I reigned supreme and won (let’s just not ask Charity ). Today however was a little bit different. No diapers to change (yay!), but I did help move over 400,000 diapers.
Yes 400,000 diapers or three semis chalked full of diapers.
Thanks to an amazingly generous donation from Huggies and The National Diaper Bank Network, EBC received a huge shipment of diapers. Thanks to an awesome group of volunteers were able to unload the diapers in about two hours – crazy fast!
Each week we give out thousands of diapers to babies in need all across King County. This week alone we’re distributing more than 8.000 diapers. Needless to say we are ECSTATIC with the donation and diapers will be going out the door tomorrow morning to help little ones in need!
Don’t be too jealous of what I get to do on a daily basis I do have to admit I am exhausted and cannot wait to lay down and go to bed!
Ohhhh even more exciting I took more than 17,500 steps today, which is almost double of my daily average…guess that explains why I’m so tired!
