Black Friday: Deals or No-Deals??

I was one of those crazy peeps, that hit the stores running at 4:30am on Black Friday.  Yep, I was in Toys R Us at 4:30, to the local mall by 5:30, and then to Target & Kohls by 7:30…back home and in bed by 9am!  However, I wasn’t overly impressed with the deals available.

Sure each store had their BIG DEALS, but they were not only limited in quantity of product available but also number of items at a good deal!  I figured I could find some amazing deals at Toys R Us for the kids in my life.  Well, there was hardly ANYTHING on sale!  Majority was full price with maybe a couple dollars knocked off here and there.  My cousin scored on a good deal on a Nintendo DSi for your daughter, but even that wasn’t a super great deal…just a little bit better then the other stores.

Where are/were all the sales?!  Did you get or find any good sales?

I guess I did find one super good sale, but it was on an item for myself.  I have a nice North Face fleece, but I wanted to buy a new one.  I fell in love with a beautiful black winter coat with a faux fur hood…super cute.  $115 regular price.  I got it for 60% off…paid just over $50.  I was very happy with that deal!  But other than that, that was the sale of the day for my group.

I was unimpressed.  I came home bummed and deflated.  Here’s to Christmas shopping…..

I stayed away from the big stores on Black Friday. Instead, I was at JoAnn Fabric at 6am when they opened. I scored a free pair of scissors for being one of the first 100 customers in the store. I went primarily for a Christmas countdown calendar and did pretty good since it was 50% off and I had a 20% off your entire purchase coupon. I also got some Nutcrackers and ornaments. Overall – not bad. At Michael’s though, I was incredibly disappointed with what they were offering. Oh well!

Nice deal on the coat though!

I hate, hate doing the Black Friday sales! But my daughter had saved her money for an iPod touch and Toys R Us was selling some with a $50 gift card…score! So we went Thanksgiving night at 9:45 (doors opened at 10pm). Stood in several different lines for almost 2 1/2 hours before they told us we couldn’t get an iPod without “the ticket”. Apparently they gave these out in line and ran out before we got there!!

So no, no big deals for us!! Glad you found your coat, and you know you’ll use it a lot.

Your one crazy girl…LOL. I was in bed and was not going to try to work my way through the crowds. My kids on the other hand got up at 1am to get to PacSun and Tillys for the gift cards but they got their times mixed up… PacSun was already opened at 12am and Tillys had fine print that they read later and realized it wasn’t worth it…LOL. They were home by 3:30am….haha. As a Mom, I was just glad they were all back home in bed and safe.
